Technel Engineering Inc. was recently awarded a contract by the
Canadian government for the supply of Regional Standard
Barometers.
The Regional Standard Barometer is used as the reference
standard to verify the Regional Portable “Transfer Standards”.
The Transfer Standards are used by field inspectors to
verify all the national airport barometers.
Technel designed the Model 745-2 System with
two Paroscientific Model 745-16B Barometric
Standards mounted in
a modern, compact, table top case.
Paroscientific barometers were selected for their enviable track
record of reliability, accuracy and
long-term stability.
The Model 745-16B is the latest generation barometric standard
with an improved
accuracy of ±0.08 hPa. The unit is normally powered by 120 VAC
but has a 72 hour battery back-up in case of power failure. The
standard RS-232 interface is available for data logging.
