TransCanada Calibrations was founded
in response to the need for higher accuracy measurements of gas
flows. TransCanada Calibrations (TCC) capabilities include the
high pressure testing and calibration of gas flow meters, as well
as pressure and temperature measurements. Interlaboratory
comparison tests have shown that TCC is capable of repeatedly and
reliably calibrating a broad range of instruments and physical
parameters with uncertainties that are comparable to the best
standards. TransCanada is ISO 9000:2000 certified and currently
undergoing registration to ISO Guide 17025. TransCanada
Calibrations has been nominated by the Canadian National Research
Council as a National Calibration and Measurement Capability
Submitted for Appendix C of the CIPM MRA on behalf of Canada for
gas flows greater than 50L/min.
TransCanada Calibrations utilizes a Desgranges & Huot DPM 1
employing Paroscientific's Digiquartz® transducers as its
precision barometric reference.
The Model DPM 1 was chosen because of its
accuracy, long-term stability and ease of use. It can be utilized
as a stand-alone reference or can be interfaced to our Desgranges & Huot Pressure Balance and Divider
to allow
high accuracy absolute pressure measurement over a wide range of
pressures.
